Report: Knicks Offer Phil Jackson Front Office Job

Coaching great Phil Jackson has all but ruled out a return to the bench, but has said he wouldn’t mind working in a NBA front office role.

We reported earlier that Jackson declined a coaching position with the Knicks, but now the NY Daily News reports that he has been offered a front office position and is expected to make a decision by next week.

Phil Jackson has been offered a front office position with the Knicks and is expected to give the club a decision sometime next week, the Daily News has learned.

According to an NBA source, Garden Chairman James Dolan has met with Jackson about a potential return to the franchise where he was a member of the Knicks’ only two championship teams. Jackson also won 11 titles as a head coach with the Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers but apparently has no interest in coaching the Knicks.

Although Jackson has never worked in a Front Office role, he would more than likely be a vast improvement than the mess they have right now.

  1. Actually Phil has Front-Office Expertise from the Lakers… Jerry West had issues with Phil having the AMOUNT OF INPUT (He did while he was There Though…)
