Mark Cuban love to get under people’s skin and take shots. He is up to his old tricks but could he be right about this one?
Cuban told the Dallas Morning News that he see the NFL imploding in 10 years because they are simply too greedy and are over-saturating the market with games:
“When pigs get fat, hogs get slaughtered,” Cuban said. “And they’re getting hoggy. When you try to take it too far, people turn the other way. I’m just telling you, when you got a good thing and you get greedy, it always, always, always, always, always turns against you.”
“They’re trying to take over every night of TV,” he said. “And initially, it’ll be the biggest rating thing there is. Then, if they get Saturday, now they’re impacting college. And then if they go to Wednesday, at some point, people get sick of it.”
Cuban brings up a great point about the NFL taking over every night of TV. At some point people will get sick of that. As of right now the ratings show that viewers are still tuning in with enthusiasm but over a period of time, that will dip. The problem here is that NFL owners like most people want to make as much money as possible and just can’t help themselves.
Time will tell if Cuban is right.
