The assignment for Amir Khan is self explanatory at this point.
If Amir Khan wants a shot at the pound-for-pound king of boxing, he has to impress him first. Speaking at a presser for his May 3 bout with Marcos Maidana, Floyd Mayweather express that if Amir Khan can impress him, he can get a fight.
Golden Boy’s CEO Richard Schaefer is currently locking down a credible welterweight to face Khan in the coming months.
“You look at Maidana and he’s 4-0 with 3 knockouts. And [Khan] is 2-2 and the guy that he did fight [and beat in Julio Diaz], we wasn’t really impressed with that. Not taking anything away from Diaz, but we wasn’t really impressed with that. [Khan] is still on the table, not for this fight. You seen what I said on my Instagram and my Twitter and my Facebook. If he can impress me with something, he may be the next guy,” Mayweather said.
