Phil Jackson is all set to take over the President of Basketball Operations for the New York Knicks. Carmelo Anthony’s free agent decision now looms as the next biggest impact move the Knicks will be faced with. Melo told the New York Daily News how it would impact his future:
“I don’t think it’ll have any effect on me, just as far as what I’m thinking or my decision or anything like that,” Anthony said, via the New York Daily News‘ Peter Botte. “Like I said, I haven’t talked to Phil yet, just to get his insight on a lot of things, what’s his plan, what’s his future plan, because everything’s in his hands now.”
My belief is that Melo is gone whether the team hires Phil or not. The truth is the team is badly constructed and won’t contend for a championship in the next three years.
Carmelo needs to make new superfriends in Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah.
