The Pittsburgh Penguins wanted to go into the Stanley Cup playoffs with some momentum but the chance of that happening has lessened greatly with an injury to former-MVP Evgeni Malkin.
Malkin tweaked his foot during the first period of the Pens loss to the Blues but played the rest of the game. After team doctors looked at him post game it was determined that’d he’ll need to rest for 2-3 weeks. The Stanley Cup playoffs begin April 16th which should give Malkin enough time to get healthy and contribute to another Pittsburgh playoff run.
