According to CBS Houston the Texans and the Oakland Raiders are in serious trade talks that would ship INT-prone Matt Schaub to the Bay area.
Here is what CBS’ “sources” are saying:
The Texans are looking to ship out Matt Schaub and his $10.5 million in salary cap cost to the Raiders, who have $59.9 million in cap space, and free up more cap room for their own ability to grab someone else in free agency or via trade.
There is no word on who or what the Texans would be receiving back from Oakland or if any other players would leave the Texans.
By now most people know that I fell that the QB of the future is already on the roster in Oakland, T. Pryor, but the management doesn’t feel the same way.
This trade would take the Raiders out of the ‘1st round QB discussion’ and place them in the ‘Worst team in the AFC’ discussion. It’d also lock them into a 1st round left tackle, figuring they’ve lost both 2013 OTs in free agency and the Roger Saffold signing fell through.
