MLB: Houston Astros at Boston Red Sox

Red Sox fans will be rejoicing, for Big Papi will be back.

After a rather tumultuous off season with rumors swirling about Ortiz’s future with the Red Sox past 2014, all fear has been put to rest.

The Red Sox and Ortiz have agreed on a $16 million one-year extension for 2015. Ortiz will make $15 million in 2014, so the Sox have actually given their veteran DH a boost in pay.

An amicable end of what could’ve been a rather unsavory chapter in the Big Papi Red Sox relationship.
