Report: Eagles To Target Mike Mitchell

The Philadelphia Eagles want a safety, and may skip the draft while acquiring one.

Acording to a report from Eliot Shorr-Parks of the Eagles are expected to have interest in free agent safety Mike Mitchell.

Mitchell, a 6-0, 210 pound safety from the Carolina Panthers, is considered one of the better safeties on the market. The five-year veteran had 66 tackles, four interceptions, 3.5 sacks and two forced fumbles last season. He spent the first four years of his career with the Oakland Raiders.

To put it simply, Mitchell is a playmaker, something the Eagles defense desperately needs.
