Steelers Sign Mike Mitchell To 5-Year/$25M Deal


The Steelers got an upgrade at safety that the Panthers couldn’t afford any longer.

Pittsburgh has signed former Panthers safety Mike Mitchell to a five year, $25 million deal.

The 26-year-old made 15 starts for the NFC South champs, and had 8 passes defended to go along with 4 interceptions.

According to, Mitchell ranked 35th in the league among safeties, 10 spots ahead of the man he’ll replace on the roster, Ryan Clark.
