Super Middle Weight champion Andre Ward has been seeking to part from promoter Dan Goossen for over a year now and at the end of 2013 he reached his boiling point.
Ward sued Goossen in an attempt to void his contract, which has him under contract until 2016. Today the California State Athletic commission ruled that the contract between the two parties will stand.
SI’s Chris Mannix broke the news via Twitter:

If you haven’t heard of Ward or just know him for his ringside commentary don’t feel bad. Goossen does a horrible job lining up opponents for him and marketing his fights. Ward is arguably the best fighter on the planet not named Floyd Mayweather but you’d never know it.
It seems like Ward will remain in relative exclusivity for the next two years while awaiting a new deal.
