People remember Chris Douglas-Roberts from his collegiate days at Memphis. He was a big piece of the 2008 final four Memphis team that went on to lose against Kansas in the National Championship.
CDR averaged over 18 points on 54% shooting that season at Memphis. How has he translated to the NBA?
Well, it hasn’t been very smooth to say the least. Douglas-Roberts is only averaging 7.4 points a game for his career. He just hasn’t been able to find a true fit. He was drafted by the Nets when they were still in New Jersey, he also played for Milwaukee and Dallas before coming to Charlotte.
He’s averaging 6.8 points per game in Charlotte in 20 minutes a night, but he had the highlight of his season last night in Atlanta.
This could be a moment that takes CDR to the next level or maybe it was just a flash in the pan.
