Surprise surprise.
The Cleveland Browns have often been considered one of the teams who will almost definitely draft a quarterback in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft. Surprisingly, they have been pretty absent from draft rumors surrounding quarterback prospects such as Johnny Manziel, Teddy Bridgewater and Blake Bortles.
According to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen, that is all about to change.
Browns' busy QB workout docket this wk: Carr, Bridgewater, Bortles, Garoppolo (Eastern Illinois), Savage (Pitt) & Wenning (Ball St)

Johnny Manziel will work out for the Browns in 2-3 weeks

Mortensen notes that Cleveland skipped the Texas A&M Pro Day, and in the process missed out on an opportunity to check out Johnny Manziel’s work out.
It seems that they will more than make up for it in the coming weeks by working out Derek Carr from Fresno St., Bridgewater, Bortles, Manziel, Jimmy Garoppolo (Eastern Illinois), Tom Savage (Pitt), and Keith Wennig (Ball St.).
Granted, these are not all first-round prospects, but the Browns are definitely being thorough. It will be interesting to see which way they go in this draft after the bust that was Brandon Weeden, Cleveland’s last first-round quarterback.
