Bryce harper knocked out

Bryce Harper has been placed on the 15-day disabled list Sunday after suffering a sprained thumb.

Harper injured his thumb in a head-first slide into third base on Friday, after smacking in a bases-loaded triple in the third inning. Harper has remained optimistic about the minor set back, via ESPN:

“Hopefully 15 days go by and I can get back out there,…We’ll see how I feel in 15.┬áIt’s frustrating, I want to be out there and be able to help my team win every single day.”

Harper will fly to Cleveland on Monday to see hand specialist Thomas Graham for a second opinion.
