Trent Richardson could end up out of the NFL really quickly if he doesn’t start to show people that he can be a productive running back in the league.
The Colts sent a first round pick to the Browns for Richardson and he must prove that he was worth the swap. The Colts have maintained faith in Richardson and the running back insisted after the season was over that he thought his difficulties were due in part to not having enough time to learn the offense.
Colts head coach Chuck Pagano told the teams official website that this will be an important offseason for Richardson and his future with the team.
“It’s going to be very, very important for [Richardson] to be here for the offseason program and to dive into this thing full steam ahead, which he will,” Pagano said, via the team’s website. “He wants to be great. He’s got all the talent. He’s got all the ability. We would have never done what we did if we didn’t believe that deep down in our core. So we look for him to have a great offseason and to have a great 2014 campaign.”
