Cowboys Willing to Trade Up in Draft for Elite Player

With the NFL Draft just around the corner, trade rumors are starting to heat up for a lot of teams.

Multiple picks are said to be up for grabs, from Houston’s first overall pick to the St. Louis Ram’s second overall pick, and there is no shortage of suitors for the chance to grab one of the top players on the board.

One of the teams mentioned in pursuit of the Rams pick has been the Dallas Cowboys. According to Calvin Watkins of ESPN Dallas, the Cowboys are not looking to move up that high in the draft, but would be willing to make a move for the right player.

Multiple sources have said the Cowboys aren’t trying to move up from No. 16 to No. 2.

However, the sources did say the Cowboys would be willing to make a move up if it were able to obtain an elite player who can fill an immediate hole.

That might be stating the obvious, as most teams would probably move up to draft an elite player. As a team with plenty of defensive holes, the Cowboys may be one of about 25 teams looking to move up to grab Jadaveon Clowney.

It will be interesting to see how the draft plays out, there are so many rumors floating around that it’s nearly impossible to predict what will happen when the Texans are on the clock.
