Former UNLV and NBA star Larry Johnson has his own strong opinions about the Donald Sterling controversy. On Saturday night, Johnson sent out a tweet saying that black people were focused on the wrong things and should focus on having a league of their own.
Black people your Focusing on the wrong thing. We should be focusing on having our own, Own team own League! To For Self!!

As Johnson put it, black people should focus on having their own league with black owners. This isn’t the first time Johnson has caused a stir with his pro-black outlook on sports.
During the 1999 NBA Finals between the Knicks and Spurs, Johnson caused a stir by saying: “We’ve got a lot of rebellious slaves on this [Knicks] team.”
Johnson was hired by the Knicks two years ago and serves several front office roles as a basketball and business operations representative. It’s unclear if he’ll remain with the team under new team president Phil Jackson.
