Josh Freeman signed with the Giants so he could learn how to be the consummate professional under Eli Manning. Freeman believes that a solid year as a backup behind Manning can put him back into position to start for another franchise next season.
According to the Star-Ledger, Freeman still sees himself as a starting-caliber quarterback.
“I still view myself as a starting-caliber quarterback,” Freeman said. “I love the situation because I have the opportunity to be around a guy that really had a lot of success, year after year and continues to win and get his team to the playoffs consistently.
“It’s a really, really cool opportunity.”
I’m not sure a year backing up Eli Manning will prove to the pundits that Freeman can play quarterback in the NFL.
