The Miami Dolphins began their first day of OTAs today, and one alarming absentee was WR Mike Wallace. The Dolphins signed Wallace to a lucrative contract during free agency prior to the beginning of the 2013 season, and things didn’t go as planned.
Wallace was supposed to be the deep threat that would help QB Ryan Tannehill expand the field for a Miami team that severely lacked a star wide receiver. However, the chemistry between Tannehill and Wallace just never seemed to be there and there was some grumbling from Wallace about the Dolphins offense’s inability to get him the ball.
There is an expectation that Wallace will join the team tomorrow. In the meantime, it’s strange that Wallace wouldn’t make his best effort to get as much time to work with Tannehill to improve their chemistry.
