Ray Rice was supposed to have his court date today from the incident where he uppercutted his then fiancee Janay Palmer back in February. The two got married in March but that didn’t stop the police from indicting him and even upping his charges to third-degree aggravated assault. From the Baltimore Sun:
An arraignment conference in Ravens running back Ray Rice’s felony aggravated assault case is set for Thursday morning at Atlantic County Superior Court, according to a court spokesperson.
The arraignment, which is set for 8:45 a.m., was originally scheduled for April 28 and was pushed back due to Judge Michael Donio’s court docket, according to a criminal division clerk.
If convicted, Rice could face jail time but it is unlikely, due to him being a first time offender.
