Tulsa basketball coach and hoops legend, Danny Manning, is reportedly leaning towards accepting the vacant Wake Forest head coaching job.

the offer is significant enough that the No. 1 overall pick of the 1988 NBA Draft would have to “leave a lot of money on the table” to remain at Tulsa despite the fact that Tulsa is prepared to counter with a notable raise.

Thus, sources said, Manning is leaning toward leaving.

“It looks like he’ll go unless the deal falls apart,” one source said.

A final decision is expected to be made by the end of this week, at the latest.

Manning led Tulsa to the NCAA Tournament this season in just his second year as a head coach.
