Myron Rolle

Even Rhodes Scholars Tweet stupid, ignorant and offensive things.

Exhibit A:

Myron Rolle Jameis Winston

For those of you not aware, Emmett Till was a 14-year-old boy who was murdered for allegedly flirting with a white woman. He was beaten, had one of his eyes gouged out, before being shot in the head and thrown in the river.

I don’t think that is quite the same as a college football player being accused of sexually assaulting a woman he just met in the club where the details of what happened are sketchy at best.

Rolle is speaking out because as we reported earlier the NY Times did a piece on the shoddy police work in that investigation. It did not slander Jameis, it simply pointed out the huge mistakes in the case, some which could have cleared Jameis if done properly.

Book smarts, doesn’t always means you have the best common sense, Rolle should know better.

You can watch Jill Munroe and I debate this topic on The Break Room.

  1. Dr. English says:

This coming from a guy with grammatical errors on every post.

  2. ts says:

Anyone who knows their history understands Rolle’s point perfectly. Maybe Mr. Littal needs to do some reading on the black male rapist myth and the complex effects is has for and on black men
