Rich Homie Quan Says He’s the Second Michigan State Mascot (Video)

Rich Homie Quan may be an Atlanta, Ga, native, but he’s taking his loyalties a little further north. After Michigan State football coach and team gave Rich a major shoutout by using his “Type of Way” song as their celebration theme after practically ever major win, it didn’t seem it would be too long before Rich returned the gesture. According to College Spun, Rich has come out to proclaim his allegiance to the Spartans for life.

“I’m the second mascot. That’s how I feel. I’m the second mascot. I can’t take Sparty’s position.”

“It wasn’t just the football players, but it was the whole school that had the Rich Homie pride.”

“I was like, I told them, ‘I just want to embrace the moment. I just want to watch. I don’t even want to take that away from them.’ I was excited about them winning. I wanted them to do their thing. I’m a fan of theirs just as much as they’re a fan of mine.”

Here is a video showing more of Rich’s interview with Sports Illustrated describing his bond with the Spartans.
