The 34-year-old former NBA star was signed by the Atlantic League team on Wednesday, and is guaranteed a spot on the Opening Day roster. McGrady has chosen to pursue a career in baseball after 17-years in the NBA, having retired in August.
McGrady is aiming for a spot as pitcher and made his debut five days ago for the team. In the off-season he worked alongside Roger Clemens to gain speed in his fastball and develop his slider.
This looks to be the newest chapter in sports for the very gifted athlete.
