There’s a reason why Hopkins calls himself ¨The Alien¨ – because he continually proves doubters wrong by doing out of this world things in the ring.
Airing on Showtime immediately after All-Access Mayweather vs Maidana at 9pm est., the 49 year-old ageless wonder and future hall of famer Bernard Hopkins will look to make history in the nation’s capitol as the oldest fighter to defend and unify belts against Beibut Shumenov.
Hopkins vs. Shumenov, a 12-round fight for the IBF, WBA and IBA Light Heavyweight World Championship, will take place at the DC Armory in Washington, D.C. The event is promoted by Golden Boy Promotions and sponsored by Corona, AT&T and Casamigos Tequila. In the 12-round co-features, Shawn Porter defends his IBF Welterweight World Title against Paulie Malignaggi and Peter Quillin puts his WBO Middleweight World Title on the line against Lukas Konecny.
Boxing fans will surely be in for a treat tomorrow night.
