The Houston Texans have several signal callers, and the best one will win the job.  Texans head coach Bill O’Brien addressed the quarterback situation at the start of OTAs, and deemed it “an open competition.”

Ryan Fitzpatrick, Case Keenum, T.J. Yates and rookie Tom Savage participated during the first day of OTAs Tuesday at the Texans’ indoor practice facility near NRG Stadium.

First-year coach Bill O’Brien said the team will eventually make a decision about its quarterback situation, which will affect repetitions during training camp. But as of Tuesday, the race for the starter spot remains “wide open.”

I expect Case Keenum to start with Yates or Fitzpatrick being named the teams backup.  Texans officials would love for Tom Savage to take advantage of the open competition and make his presence known.
