Brazilian soccer fans

I can’t think of a worse way to die to be honest.

According to this insane story via Sporting News, a Brazilian soccer fan lost his life after being hit by a toilet following a game in northeastern Brazil on Friday.

A police officer in Recife said on Saturday that the death occurred on Friday at Arruda Stadium after a match between Santa Cruz and Parana. He spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the press.

The officer said fans ripped three toilet bowls out of stadium restrooms, and threw them from the stands. He said one hit and instantly killed a fan he identified as Paulo Ricardo Gomes da Silva.

With the World Cup just six weeks away, Brazilian authorities are going to have to work overtime to get the violence under control if this prestigious sporting event is going to be a success. You just can’t have toilets attacking people.
