DeMarco Murray rushed for 1,121 yards, had nine touchdowns and made his first Pro Bowl appearance in 2013. Murray accomplished those numbers despite the Cowboys finishing 24th in rushing at 94 yards per game. Dallas finished last in 2012.
With Scott Linehan taking over for Bill Callahan as offensive coordinator, Murray would definitely welcome a few more touches.
“Yeah, yeah, whenever you have a chance to get more opportunities it’s always good,” Murray said. “But whatever they plan on doing hopefully we continue to have a lot of success in the passing game, running game, whatever it may be, continue to play ball and have fun.”
The Cowboys are still a pass first team, but adding four or five touches a game for Murray should allow Tony Romo to breathe a little bit easier.
