Jeff Van Gundy has always stated that it would take the perfect job to get him to walk away from the broadcast booth and become a head coach again.
Could a return to Madison Square Garden, to work for Phil Jackson and Knicks entice Van Gundy?
Van Gundy made no statement in regards to having any interest in the Knicks job, but he did tell ESPN Radio’s “The Ian O’Connor Show” that “he’d listen if Phil Jackson called to talk basketball.”
“If Phil Jackson ever wanted to talk basketball with me, which, listen, who knows if that’s true, but if he ever did, of course I would take the time, because I’m sure I could benefit from the conversation,” Van Gundy told O’Connor.
Van Gundy is not currently considered a candidate for the Knicks’ job.
