Mark Sanchez told Kimberley A. Martin of Newsday that he’s “entering the prime of his career” and he “couldn’t have landed with a better organization.”
“I just kept thinking, ‘Eagles. This is the place to be,'” Sanchez said. “I really respected what they did last year. … And I think they have a ton of talent, especially at the wideout position, tight end position. They’re just overflowing with guys that can play.”
Sanchez wouldn’t get into any back and forth about a competition with Nick Foles, but simply said that he’d be prepared when called upon.
“I don’t even lose sleep over it. It’s not a big deal,” he said. “I’m doing everything I can to help this team. And if my role’s going to be help Nick get ready for the season, help Nick get ready for Week 1 or preseason games, I’m going to be ready to do whatever they need me to do.”
