A weird incident took place today during Tuesday’s game between the Dodgers AAA affiliate Albuquerque Isotopes and Salt Lake Bees, the Angels AAA team. Isotopes teammates Miguel Olivo and Alex Guerrero got into a scrap of epic proportions in the dugout sometime during the 8th inning, and things got so intense that Olivo channeled his inner Mike Tyson and bit off a chunk of Guerrero’s ear.
Wait. What? Miguel Olivo goes Mike Tyson on Alex Guerrero. Seriously, bit his ear. #dodgers #MinorLeague #fight pic.twitter.com/NE2rOTweIb

The brawl, allegedly started because Olivo was upset that Guerrero didn’t tag out a runner stealing second, was later confirmed by Dodgers GM Ned Colletti and Guerrero’s agent Scott Boras.

Olivo’s bite was nasty enough to warrant plastic surgery, and police are looking into the incident.

No word on how long Guerrero will be out of action. Safe to say that based on the fact he nearly gnawed off his teammate’s ear, journeyman Olivo’s days as a Dodger are numbered.
