There’s been rampant speculation for weeks about the future of Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau. Thibs is still under contract, but has a rocky relationship with team GM, Gar Foreman.
Ric Bucher of Bleacher Report is reporting that Thibodeau would only leave the Bulls to accept the Knicks head coaching position.
“There’s only one place that Thibodeau would really push to go elsewhere, and that’s to go back to the New York Knicks,” Bucher said. “That, I’m told by one source, is actually his dream job, to go back and get the Knicks back on the map. But short of that, he realizes that no matter where he goes, the grass isn’t always greener.”
According to Bucher, the Knicks gig would be Thibodeau’s dream job. Unfortunately for Knicks fans, it’s unlikely to happen. Thibodeau and Phil Jackson have no previous basketball relationship and Thibodeau’s offense in Chicago is a long way from the triangle.
It sounds good though.
