Yesterday, news came out that Rutgers transfer QB Philip Nelson was in jail for his involvement in an altercation that left Issac Kolstad in critical condition. Now according to Joe Schad, he has been dismissed from the team.
A police sergeant who saw surveillance video of the fight had this to say:
“Nelson pushes past others, approaches I.K. and delivers at least one kick to the left side of I.K.’s head,” the complaint reads. “Sergeant Knutson noted that the video clearly shows that I.K. was defenseless as Nelson delivers the kick or kicks to the head.”
Kolstad is still in critical condition with a head injury.
"The Rutgers football family’s thoughts and prayers are with Isaac Kolstad and his family,” RU coach Kyle Flood said.
