Rejoice geeks of the world!
Just days removed from the news of Fox giving the greenlight to Gotham the CW has given the go-away for the Arrow spinoff The Flash and the series iZombie.
The two shows will be joining the ranks with Arrow, which is finishing up its highly acclaimed second season. Arrow executive producers Greg Berianti and Andrew Kreisberg are also on board for The Flash along with Geoff Jones, who also penned the Arrow pilot.
iZombie will also be a delightful geeky show to spice up the CW’s normal tween sitcom niche, via DC Comics:
iZombie is about a med student-turned-zombie named Liv who takes a job in the coroner’s office to gain access to the brains she must eat to maintain her humanity, but with each brain she consumes, she inherits the corpse’s memories. With the help of her medical examiner boss and a police detective, she solves homicide cases in order to quiet the disturbing voices in her head.
iZombie stars Once Upon a Time’s Rose McIver as Liv, as well as Robert Buckley, David Anders, Malcolm J. Goodwin, Alexandra Krosney and Rahul Kohli. The one-hour drama is executive produced by Thomas and Ruggiero, as well as Warner Bros. TV’s Dan Etheridge and Danielle Stokdyk.
The geeks shall inherit the earth.
