California Chrome fell short of the Triple Crown and history today at the Belmont Stakes and his owner Steve Coburn did not take it well.
Tonalist, the horse that snatched history away from Chrome, didn’t race in the Preakness and Kentucky Derby and was essentially a fresh horse which was a point of contention for Coburn in post-race interview where he didn’t hold any punches. He even went as far as to call them cowards.
I can’t say I blame him, he brings up a legitimate point but no sense in crying over spilled milk now. Chrome on the other hand was much more gracious in defeat than his owner.
Not my day today. Thank you #Chromies for all of your support through this campaign. Love you!
