Chris Johnson is a confident man as he enters a crucial season in his career. Johnson told the New York Daily News that “he’s still capable of gaining 2,000 yards in a season” and that “he’d retire if he couldn’t.”
“I’d just retire and not play anymore if I didn’t feel like I was still capable of being a 2,000-yard back,” Chris Johnson told the Daily News on Tuesday. “I know I have the ability.”
Johnson is five-years removed from his 2,006-yard campaign in which he earned the nickname CJ2K. The Jets have made it clear that Johnson’s play will dictate his carries and he’ll have every opportunity to earn those yards.
