Dallas Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray is entering the last year of his contract and is coming off a pro bowl season as well.
That should bode well for Murray getting a new deal. If DeMarco Murray is concerned about his contract, he’s not talking about it. Murray told the media that he’s had few discussions with the Cowboys about an extension despite rushing for 1,121 yards and nine touchdowns in 2013.
Murray says he’s not worried about it and just wants to focus on football.
“I never do,” Murray said when asked if he is worried about a new contract. “That’s something I have no control over, if it happens it happens, if it doesn’t it doesn’t. Like I said I have to continue to play like I’ve done my entire life and work hard and help this team as much as I can.”
If DeMarco Murray was any other back, he’d have a new deal now. Murray has a tendency injury prone, and if you combine that with the devalue of the running back position, Dallas could be inclined to let things play out.
