Farewell to the Captain, indeed.
As the season heads into fast gear, Jeter has become more reflective on what his post retirement plans are. Jeter has some pretty lofty goals set for himself, one of which is to own his very own MLB team.
Jeter opened up about what the future holds at his annual Turn 2 Foundation dinner in NYC, via NY Daily News:
“I’d probably be a little bit more behind the scenes than The Boss, but I learned a lot of great things from him. Yup, that’s the next goal, buddy, calling the shots, not answering to someone.”
For those who automatically assume Jeter will take a managerial role post retirement, think again:
“Why not managing? Too much travel, bro, I don’t want no part of that. I ain’t no manager. Then I got to answer (the media’s) questions every day, too.”
Whatever the future holds, Jeter will surely rise to the occasion as he always does.
