Recardo Wimbush a former Georgia Tech standout linebacker had an arrest warrant issued for him to surrender to police. He and his wife are being accused of locking their son in a basement for two years do to “disciplinary reasons.”
Here are some details from the Atlanta Journal Constitution:
The victim had been confined to the room for most of the past two years and a lock had been added to the victim’s room in January 2013,” Smith said. “The victim had no access to books, toys, entertainment devices, or his siblings.
Social workers discovered the boy was being confined to a small room that locked from the outside; it contained a bare box springs and mattress and “a large plastic jar, which was apparently used as a toilet.”
The victim is said to have gotten fed at regular times and had a make shift bed that the parents added a sheet to because social workers were coming to visit. The boy’s other 9 siblings were also said to be in good health.
What a truly sad story.
