A few months back, it was announced that Pikachu, yes the Pokemon character, was going to be the official mascot for the Japanese World Cup squad this summer.

Pikachu’s involvement didn’t just stop with the announcement, as the Japanese team soon sold replica jerseys with the Pokemon character on them.

Now they have taken their partnership to the next level as the Japanese squad is flying to the World Cup in a plane covered in Pokemon characters. Seriously.

You have to feel for the players a bit here, I’m sure flying to the most important sporting event of your career in a plane that looks like it was designed by elementary school students isn’t exactly how they envisioned things going.
