I’ve never had a stress fracture in my foot, or anywhere else for that matter, so I can’t comment on how painful or debilitating they are. But my thinking is this—if it’s a severe enough fracture to require surgery, maybe it’s not the best idea to get a round of golf in the day before you go under the knife to fix your broken foot. I’m looking at you, Joel Embiid.
Like I said, maybe it’s not a big deal to play 18 holes on a broken foot that requires impending surgery. Embiid should consider changing this Twitter status update to read, “Disappointment is inevitable…Discouragement is a choice…Golf Carts are mandatory.”
