Jordy Nelson has turned into one of the most dependable wide receivers in the NFL, and his growth couldn’t have come at a better time.
Nelson is heading into the final year of his contract, but he hopes to have a new deal in place before the start of free agency. The talented wide receiver told the Green Bay Press-Gazette that he isn’t worried about numbers, but would like a new deal.
“I haven’t thought that far. I guess I’m more focused on hoping it gets done before that,” Nelson told the Green Bay Press-Gazette. “Obviously you want to get it done as soon as possible, but there are a lot of other people involved in that. It’s a process, we’ll just have to wait and see how it goes.”
Nelson is coming off a career highs in catches (85) and yards (1,314) and think he and the Packers will come to an agreement before the situation gets murky.
“They know everything about me, they know we don’t want to leave, so I’m not worried about saying it. We just want to make sure you get it done,” Nelson said.
