Los Angeles ace Clayton Kershaw is doing his best to live up the historic seven-year, $215 million deal he signed in January.
Kershaw was literally unhittable Wednesday night, as he sat down a career high fifteen Colorado Rockies batters on his Dodgers’ way to 8-0 home shutout. Even in a MLB culture where no-hitters have become somewhat “watered-down”, this was among one of the statistically best performances in league history.
Yahoo Sports’ Jeff Passan reminded everyone just how great the performance was:
Clayton Kershaw just pitched one of the greatest games ever. The only higher nine-inning Game Score than his 102 was Kerry Wood’s 20-K game.

Making the moment even sweeter, Dodgers’ legendary broadcaster, Vin Scully was the voice etched into the MLB history books along with the outstanding performance.
I have only been watching since the 6th. But Scully is having almost as flawless a game as Kershaw. Every word, like every pitch, artistic. — Jack Curry (@JackCurryYES) June 19, 2014
Watching Kershaw, the best in the biz, chase a no-no is cool. Having Scully, the best in the biz, calling it makes it cooler. 3 outs to go
