The Spurs topped the Heat 110-95 in Game 1 of the NBA Finals, thanks in large part to a faulty air conditioner and LeBron James’ history of cramping. With the AT&T Center steaming, LeBron developed cramping in his legs so bad that he had to leave the game with just under four minutes left. It was so debilitating that James had to be carried to the bench, and just like Jordan had his “Flu Game,” LeBron now has “The Cramp Game” on his résumé.
Once James left the game—after cutting the Spurs lead to two with that layup—San Antonio went on a 16-3 run to finish the Heat off. LeBron should stick to a heavy diet of bananas and coconut water from here on out, suspicious air conditioner malfunctions or not.
