Pacers To Let Evan Turner Become Unrestricted Free Agent

The Evan Turner era in Indianapolis is officially over.

Jeff Zillgitt is reporting that the Indiana Pacers are prepared to let Evan Turner walk and become an unrestricted free agent.

The Pacers, who acquired Turner from the Philadelphia 76ers in a trade during last season, will not extend a qualifying offer of $8.7 million on the final year of his rookie deal.

Turner was expected to possibly be the missing piece to help get the Pacers over the hump against the Heat.  Instead, Turner played in just one game (four minutes) in the six-game series.

He has averaged 11.1 points, five rebounds and 3.2 assists in his four seasons.
