Colin Kaepernick’s new found fortune will have a generous trickle down effect according to Adam Schefter.
League insiders believe Kaepernick’s huge new deal could pave the way for Russell Wilson and Andrew Luck to see upwards of $24-$25 million per season in their new deals.
Word around NFL is that when Andrew Luck and Russell Wilson get new deals next year, they will come in between $24-$25 million per year.

The general consensus is that there is no pay scale for second or third tier group of quarterbacks. You either get paid huge money, or you don’t.
Kaepernick was able to score such a deal so quickly because he wasn’t a first round pick. The 49ers didn’t have the luxury of a fifth year option. That will work out in Russell Wilson’s favor also.
His Super Bowl ring will help negotiations as well.
Kaepernick’s deal will also have huge ramifications for guys like RG3, Cam Newton and Nick Foles just to name a few. All are expected to approach or come close to that $18 million a season barrier.
Only two are likely to shift the pay scale once again.
