As NFL Minicamps open up around the league, All-Pro wide receiver Andre Johnson has yet to show up to any organized team activities. Johnson, who has skipped all ten of the Texans’ voluntary offseason activities, does not want to be apart of a new rebuilding process. Coach Bill O’Brien still doesn’t know if Johnson will continue to holdout, next week:
“You know, again, I don’t know,” O’Brien said. “I don’t know.” – via Mark Sessler, NFL.com
The Texans went 2-14 last season. Outside of Matt Schaub’s propensity to throw the almighty pick-6, star runningback Arian Foster’s season was cut short due to a back injury. Though Foster has been medically cleared as of March & the Texans drafted Jadeveon Clowney, the Texans still haven’t found a quality quarterback to lead the team in the AFC South (Schaub was traded in the offseason). Unless Houston is offered a franchise changing trade, they’ll likely wait for Johnson to blink first & begrudgingly show up.
