It’s always good to hear athletes do more than just help themselves, especially in times when helping someone might not seem like the obvious answer. On Monday Minnesota Vikings LB Chad Greenway went out of his way to help some stranded boaters.
“The waves are so big and the wind is so strong today that it pushed him right into the rocks, so we had to get him off the rocks, his prop cleared out of the rope, and get him turned in the right direction,” Greenway told KARE-TV.
“I just ran down, of course with my two little girls following behind me, trying to stay out of the way, and I figured I’d help them out. It looked like it was dangerous.”
Greenway at 6’2″ and 242 pounds managed to use his strength to push the couple’s boat to a safe area of the water and then helped a patrolman tie the boat up for towing. He then took the couple to their car. The couple admitted that they were Bears fans to a local tv reporter, but I’m pretty sure they have some love for the Vikings now.
