It is your right to have as many firearms as you please, but it isn’t your right to mishandle said firearms and try to scare innocent bystanders with them. Washington State’s Ivan McLennan is learning this the hard way.
Junior linebacker Ivan McLennan was arrested on Sunday for unlawful handling of a weapon capable of producing bodily harm according to Jacob Thorpe of the Spokesman-Review.
A student called police saying they saw a man brandishing a firearm and pointing it at them as they drove through an apartment complex parking lot. Thorpe spoke with Pullman police spokesman Chris Tennant who says officers arrived to find McLennan and another person playing with Airsoft guns. Tennant said police arrested McLennan because they had contacted him three weeks ago for the same offense.
It may seem like common sense to most people, but McLennan missed that memo. If convicted, he could face up to 364 days in jail and/or a $5K fine. Hopefully either someone takes these weapons away from him or he finally gets it.
