In his first three years in the NFL, Murray has average 179 carries a season. The number is low partly because of injuries and partly because the Cowboys have a pass happy offense.
It would be beneficial to the Cowboys if Murray could shoulder more of the load. It would help the offense be more balance and let the defense catch its breath.
Murray for his part is up to the task according to FOX SPORTS.
“If they decide to do that with me, of course,” Murray told FOXSports.com, when asked if he could handle a 300-carry-a-season workload. “Whatever they decide to do with me, I think I can handle it.”
For fantasy purposes, when Murray is healthy he is right up there with the other great fantasy football running backs, so he’s maybe worth the risk in the late 1st or early 2nd round.
