Former troubled Detroit Lions wide receiver Titus Young has been arrested yet again; this time on felony battery (with serious bodily injury) charges in Los Angeles, according to a sheriff’s spokesperson. He is being held in the Twin Towers Correctional Facility with bail set at $105,000.
The L.A. sheriff’s department has declined to elaborate on the details of Young’s July 9th arrest, however his arrest came just one day before he was scheduled to make a pretrial appearance in Newport Beach, California; where he is currently facing four separate felonies stemming from assault and burglary charges levied in May of 2013.
Young’s father Richard has stated in the past that his son has a mental disorder that requires treatment, however neither Young’s family nor his legal team have commented as to what help he’s been receiving in the past year. According to USA Today, Young’s most recent attorney, Brian Hurwitz; isn’t even representing his anymore.
Whatever the case things are not looking the best for the former Boise State star. Maybe being locked up and spending some time away from whatever keeps landing him in such hot water is a blessing in disguise. Hopefully he can receive the help his family is claiming he is in need of.
